Host an event

Do you have an idea for a learning and teaching event?

SWAP would like to hear from people interested in running an event on a topic related to the learning and teaching of social policy and/or social work. These events provide:

  • A forum for critical debate and discussion about learning and teaching issues with colleagues from different institutions
  • Opportunities for networking and sharing of ideas, issues and good practice
  • Time and space to address topics that matter to you

Successful applicants usually organise the venue, catering, the programme, speakers, facilitation and delivery of the event. SWAP will manage the publicity, bookings and related administration, and can provide general advice and support in all aspects of running an event.

If you have an idea for an event please complete the event proposal form (WORD, 185KB) and return it to swapedit@soton.ac.uk

Event support material

SWAP may be able to support appropriate events by supplying:

  • printed resources such as newsletter, guides, helpsheets, reports
  • SWAP exhibition materials
  • SWAP goodies e.g. pens, coasters, mugs

Contact swapenquiries@soton.ac.uk for more details.
