Funded project

Involving families living in poverty in the training of social workers (completed 2003)

Anna Gupta Royal Holloway, University of London

This project aims to bring together academics, service users and practitioners to develop and deliver a training programme on working with children and families living in poverty, for social workers. This will be developed and delivered in partnership with families living in poverty, who have had experience of social services. As part of this project this funding will enable the preparation of a literature review on poverty, its impact on children and families and effective social work intervention, support for meeting attendance and the preparation of a final report.
