Description

This project aimed to identify current practice-related preoccupations amongst childcare practitioners from different professional backgrounds arising from the ECM agenda and integration of children’s services in order to develop a practice-informed curriculum for working with children and families for the benefit of students, academics and practice educators involved in social work qualifying programmes. An innovative qualitative research approach was adopted, which entailed the use of a relationship-based reflection model. This practitioner-led approach differed from traditional methods in that it invited practitioners to explore their current inter-professional experiences in an inclusive and reflective manner. Data were generated from both the content of the reflective discussions and process of the group interactions.
