Crossword software

Free crossword software is available from the web, for example Eclipse Crossword. It is easy to download and to use you simply put in the words and clues and the software creates the crossword for you. The finished crossword can be saved as a document and printed as a paper version (with or without answers) or uploaded to a website or intranet/virtual learning environment.

Crosswords may be used to:

  • Introduce a topic
  • Help with learning of factual information
  • Help with revision

Virtual Resources

Virtual Placement Interactive resource from the University of Central England that presents dilemmas, situations in placement and which generate real learning for real students

SIMPLE (Simulated Professional Learning Environment)    The SIMPLE application allows students to simulate the practice of law in a virtual town. SIMPLE has been piloted in five law schools (GGSL, Glamorgan, Stirling, Warwick and West of England), with further pilots in departments of architecture, management science and social work.
