Interprofessional education (IPE) is one of SWAP's thematic areas of work which is becoming increasingly important in the context of integrated service delivery.

Projects

Mental health in higher education (mhhe) project - This project aims to enhance learning and teaching about mental health across the disciplines in UK higher education.

Integrated children's services in higher education (ICS-HE): Preparing tomorrow's professionals - This Higher Education Academy project (ICS-HE) focuses on professional education for integrated children's services to meet the Every Child Matters (ECM) agenda. Key disciplines and professions include: education, early years professionals, careers, nursing, midwifery, medicine, psychology, social work and youth and community work.

Centre for the Advancement of Interprofessional Education (CAIPE UK) - CAIPE is dedicated to the promotion and development of interprofessional education (IPE) with and through its individual and corporate members, in collaboration with like minded organisations in the UK and overseas.

European InterProfessional Education Network (EIPEN) - EIPEN aims to develop and sustain a network in the EU to share and develop effective interprofessional vocational training curricula, methods and materials for improving collaborative practice and multi agency working in health and social care.

Journal of Interprofessional Care - A journal for worldwide dissemination of experience, policy, research evidence and theoretical and value perspectives informing collaboration in education, practice and research between medicine, nursing, veterinary science, allied health, public health, social care and related professions to improve health status and quality of care for individuals, families and communities.

Scottish Interprofessional Education Special Interest Group - A SIG which has been established to run in parallel with the IPE SIG south of the border and which gives an opportunity to discuss innovations and current projects in the area of IPE in Scotland.
